Bespoke tailor’s August offer

Gieves & Hawkes offering ‘preferential pricing’ until end of this month

Gieves & Hawkes, established in 1771, has proudly held a Royal Warrant for every British monarch since George III.

Renowned as “the UK’s military tailor” for its distinguished history of crafting uniforms for British royalty, the armed forces and international dignitaries – including members of the Norwegian and Danish royal families – the house is synonymous with tradition and excellence.

Its address, No.1 Savile Row, London, is as coveted as the reputation it has built up over more than 250 years of bespoke tailoring. When the building was offered for sale by the Royal Geographical Society in 1912, Gieves & Hawkes seized the opportunity to make this landmark its home.

While many sectors report periods of lower activity over August as people go on holiday, that is not always necessarily true for bespoke tailors, as summer weddings and other social events keep things ticking over.

Demand for bespoke, tailored suits and refined clothing has always been strong in the capital, and it is also flourishing elsewhere – not least in Birmingham, where Gieves & Hawkes has a store in the Mailbox retail complex.

Throughout August 2025, Gieves & Hawkes is offering an exclusive made-to-measure experience: “The Sartorial Offer.”

“Clients can choose from a specially curated selection of fine cloths and exclusive bunches – each handpicked for their elegance, versatility and character – enjoying preferential pricing on our made-to-measure service,” said Zac Atkins, head of made-to-measure at Gieves & Hawkes.

At the Birmingham branch of Gieves & Hawkes is store manager Max Harvey, a smartly attired (obviously) chap with a warm manner and an eye for detail, ably supported by his assistant manager, Ben Morris.

“Whether commissioning a suit for the season ahead or expressing personal style through refined detail and fit, this is an opportunity to create something truly individual – anchored in the heritage of No. 1 Savile Row and tailored with care,” said Max.

“We welcome clients to visit us in store or arrange a private appointment to begin their sartorial journey.”

A very British brand

The brand’s focus is unapologetically British. More than 60% of Gieves & Hawkes’ collections are crafted using British textiles and manufacturing. Italian fabrics are also available, offering contrast and variety.

“British cloth is often prized for its durability and distinctive character,” Max added.
