Birmingham Airport (BHX) has opened two additional pre-flight security screening lanes in a bid to avoid the “unacceptable” queues customers experienced last summer.
The extra lanes are the result of £5m in additional investment following the opening last year of BHX’s £60m new security hall.
A BHX spokesperson said: “Since last summer we have been relentless in our focus to make sure unacceptable queuing does not return this year.”
The new lanes will be opened on an agile basis when demand requires, the airport said.
Around 13 million customers used BHX in 2024, its busiest year ever.
