Only an initial enquiry at this stage

St Modwen Homes and Bournville Village Trust have submitted an initial enquiry to look at how the space could be used to construct up to 1,450 homes, as well as six other amenities.

Located by the Upper Bittell reservoir, the site is an attractive opportunity for potential homebuyers. It’s also next to a site of specific scientific interest, which for some is cause for concern.

Concerns across the board

West Midlands News visited the site of the proposed site and caught up with local policymakers and developers to discuss the future of the site.

Among local objectors are councillors and MPs, with local petitions, Facebook groups and action groups popping up echoing their sentiments.

Northfield MP, Laurence Turner, gave West Midlands News a copy of a three-page letter he’s been distributing to local residents. It’s too big to include in our news package so we’ve included a link to it for folks keen to see the detail: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ptCavzfpG1Gv_0nQViS23VokRqV-Vq3z/view?usp=sharing
