A Walsall care home has received a £1,000 donation from the Old Corinthians Walking Football Club (OCWFC).
A life-changing sensory table
The cash has been spent on a state-of-the-art sensory table, which will enrich the lives of residents at Pelsall Hall care home, one of the West Midland’s leading dementia care homes.
It will provide visual and tactile stimulation as well as promote relaxation and positive memories for people of all abilities.
Money raised at a football match
Money for the table was raised at a recent football match and Charity fundraising day held at Dales Lane, the home of Rushall Olympic FC.
In June a group of residents and staff from the care home attended the event and met with members of the club. The official cheque presentation took place at the care home in July.
Dementia affects a large number of people
Chairman of OCWFC, Clyde Redfern, said: “Many of our members have had loved ones affected by dementia, so we wanted to give back to a local cause that truly matters.”
Care home ‘delighted’
Home manager at Pelsall Hall, Wendy Clifton, said: “We’re absolutely delighted – not just by the generous donation, but by the spirit of partnership that comes with it.”
Leading care home
Pelsall Hall care home in Walsall is a leading not-for-profit care home organisation with a person-centred approach to looking after residents. It ranks in the top 20 care groups in the UK.
