Birmingham’s SIFA Fireside charity is calling on West Midlanders to remember the plight of homeless people this summer.
The group said the festive season in the middle of winter “often inspires acts of kindness towards vulnerable people, but the same cannot always be said for the months when the weather is warmer.”
Unlike many fortunate people who can take a summer break in desirable sea and sun resorts, “Homelessness Doesn’t Take a Holiday” – that’s the name of SIFA Fireside’s seasonal fundraiser.
Robb Sheppard, communication manager at SIFA Fireside, said he hoped the campaign “will stop people in their tracks, encourage them to take a second look, and make a donation.”
He added: “These donations will make a big difference to the day-to-day lives of our city’s most vulnerable people.
