One of Birmingham’s best-loved community events returns in August as St Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter hosts its annual summer fete.
On Saturday August 16 from 12pm to 5pm the event will fill the historic St Paul’s Square with local music, market stalls, food and family fun to support the ‘Raise the Roof’ restoration campaign.
St Paul’s Church will celebrate its 250th anniversary in 2029 whne it aims to have raised the £660,000 required to replace its ageing roof.
With nearly £200,000 already raised from local businesses and residents, the church is now seeking further support and preparing applications to The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic England to help reach its goal.
Reverend David Tomlinson, Vicar of St Paul’s, said: “We always have tremendous fun at the church’s annual fete and this year is set to be the biggest and the best in my time at St Paul’s. Everyone who joins us is helping protect this beautiful, iconic church for future generations.”
The fete is sponsored by Cucina Rusticana and Kangs Solicitors. To donate, visit https://stpaulsjq.church/donate
