Ten local jobs are being created at a new hotel opening today in Meriden.

The 33-room Barn Hotel is a conversion by brothers Tom, Joe and Will Barber on the family farm run by their parents Chris and Fiona.

Will Barber, co-owner of the Barn At Berryfields, said: “Our mission is simple – to provide the most comfortable, quiet, clean and contemporary overnight stay, with all of the amenities you would expect.”

The family farms arable and livestock, including RSPCA-assured pigs and pedigree grass-fed Hereford cattle.

As well as a farm shop opened in 2008, the business has further diversified with a restaurant and private function room, bar, pizzeria, artisan bakery and event spaces

Katie Trout, of West Midlands Growth Company, said the hotel is “a fantastic example of the innovation, ingenuity and drive of our West Midlands tourism and hospitality venues.”
