Stoke-on-Trent is set to benefit from 193 new homes.
This comes after council approval cleared the way for development on a former school site in Longton.
Led by Lovell
The project, led by regeneration specialist Lovell, will see the disused brownfield land once occupied by Edensor School transformed into a residential community, with a strong emphasis on green space and connectivity.
Help from local authorities
As part of the scheme, Stoke-on-Trent City Council has secured the purchase of 48 of the properties for social rent, following approval at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday 19 August.
The development will deliver a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with the inclusion of one-bedroom bungalows designed to address a shortfall in smaller homes across the city.
To help local housing needs
The scheme marks a significant step forward in tackling local housing needs, providing a range of tenures to ensure affordability and choice for residents while revitalising a long-vacant site in the heart of the community.
