A Birmingham recruitment agency is set to double its workforce and play a key role in supporting the delivery of new social housing across the region, thanks to backing from Business Growth West Midlands (BGWM).

Already helped more than 5,000 professionals

Niyaa People, which has already placed more than 5,000 professionals into roles within some of the UK’s leading housing associations, has secured support to expand its operations as part of Mayor Richard Parker’s Growth Plan.

The firm has moved into larger premises, hired six new members of staff and is targeting an increase in its workforce from 60 to 120 over the next three years.

A strong reputation

Established in 2008, Niyaa People has built a strong reputation for matching skilled workers such as engineers, electricians and site managers with housing providers including Midland Heart, Citizen Housing and Bournville Village Trust.

By supplying a pipeline of talent, the company is also helping to underpin the Mayor’s ambition to deliver the largest social housing programme in the West Midlands for decades.

Mayor’s reaction

Mayor Parker said: “Our business community is the lifeblood of our economy, and its success is key to making the West Midlands a great place to live, work, and do business. By investing in specialist recruitment agencies like Niyaa People who have a deep knowledge of their sector, we can ensure that the right people can be matched with the right employer.”

Dal Shoker, CEO of Niyaa People, added: “As a proud Birmingham-based business, we are deeply committed to contributing to the social housing sector – not only by providing highly skilled staff, but also by bringing fresh ideas, insight, and value to the industry. Our mission is simple. To help change the housing landscape for the better.”
