It’s all smiles at a Stafford nursery after Ofsted gave it a glowing report praising its staff for being “very caring and nurturing” and concluding its children are flourishing.
Partou Smileys Day Nursery and Pre-school, based at Stafford General Hospital, was rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the education watchdog – with inspectors full of praise for its team and the bright future it offers little learners.
Love, laughs and learning
Inspectors said kids are “showered with high levels of love” and form strong bonds with staff. One said: “Children’s confidence continually grows… they’re keen to engage and have a positive attitude to learning.”
The nursery – which serves NHS workers and local families – boasts spacious playrooms, a huge outdoor area, and a buzzing atmosphere where tots are encouraged to explore, play and learn.
Books, bonds and behaviour
The curriculum was described as “ambitious” with a real focus on reading and fun. Staff were praised as excellent role models, with inspectors noting: “Children’s love of books is nurtured throughout the setting.”
Support for children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) was also rated highly, with parents singing the nursery’s praises for keeping them informed and involved.
Top marks for the team
Nursery manager Emma Peach said: “Our team works incredibly hard to deliver fun, engaging learning activities. It’s fantastic that Ofsted recognised our positivity and care.”
