Solihull Hospital’s outpatient services have been graded ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Part of routine monitoring
This is the first time the hospital has achieved this level. It comes after a routine inspection earlier this year.
Safety, responsiveness, compassion
The services were praised for their safety, effectiveness, and responsiveness. With particular recognition given to the hospital for its supportive leadership and compassionate staff.
Supporting patients to lead healthier lives
The report noted that staff had made particular efforts to support patients to live healthier lives, with noticeboards displayed to share key information on life-changing conditions such as diabetes, urological conditions and tissue viability.
Welcomed by a local MP
Local MP, Neil Shastri-Hurst, said: “This is a hugely welcome endorsement of the outstanding care being delivered at Solihull Hospital.
“This report is a testament to the professionalism, compassion, and commitment of the staff and leadership across the outpatient departments.”
Delivers care across five key areas
The hospital is part of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust and delivers outpatient care across five key areas and 36 medical specialisms.
A full report on the hospital will be released by the CQC soon.
