Birmingham’s renowned Titash restaurant has been crowned West Midlands Curry Champion of the Year at the inaugural British Curry Championship 2025, securing its place among the finest such establishments in the UK.

The awards, held at the Bradford Hotel on Monday 30 June, marked a significant moment for the UK’s curry industry, celebrating the top 300 restaurants, chefs, and takeaway services nationwide.

Organised by Oceanic Awards – the team behind the long-running Scottish and English Curry Awards – this first Britain-wide event highlighted regional excellence and national standouts across the culinary map.

Titash, located in Birmingham, impressed judges with its consistency, innovation and quality, while two other West Midlands eateries – Pabna Restaurant in Leek and Kolshi Indian Restaurant in Warwick were recognised for Outstanding Achievement and Excellence respectively.

National winners shine

Among the national honourees, Mumbai Flavours in Alnwick was named Nation Curry Restaurant of the Year, while Chutney Express Takeaway in Birmingham brought further pride to the West Midlands as National Takeaway of the Year.

The top individual accolade, Lifetime Curry Champion of the Year, went to Mohammed Abdul Baki, founder of Kohinoor 1969 and Dhamaka in Newcastle. Meanwhile, International Restaurant in Bradford took home the highest honour as Nation’s Curry Champion of the Year.
