Villa mistake on PM’s watch

PM has let anti-semitic hatred flourish – and now he calls it out

Keir Starmer’s strong condemnation of Aston Villa for banning Israeli fans from attending the club’s upcoming fixture against Maccabi Tel Aviv rings hollow.

When Villa’s “Safety Advisory Group,” which oversees Villa’s matchday logistics, advised Tel Aviv fans not to come to Villa Park on November 6, the PM took to X, boldly declaring:  “This is the wrong decision. We will not tolerate antisemitism on our streets. The role of the police is to ensure all football fans can enjoy the game, without fear of violence or intimidation.”

Hollow words after the horse has bolted

Hmm, so after two years of failing to find the cajones to speak out against the rising tide of antisemitism in the UK, he has a rummage around in his big boy pants and finds them …

Not credible.

Sadly, Starmer’s appeasement of anti-Jewish hatred for the two years since October 7, 2023, and his recent wrong-headed move to formally recognise a state of Palestine, have simply served to embolden those in Britain who hate Israel and hate Jews.

A fortnight ago, we saw two Jews slain in their place of worship in Manchester by a blade-wielding Islamic extremist named Jihad.

This came on the back of two years of street protests across every major UK city, where chanting antisemitic slogans has been normalised, with anyone who questions it being sidelined and ignored. All on Starmer’s watch.

Despite Trump’s “peace” being declared in Gaza, the antisemitic hatred that has been allowed to flourish in the country continues to rage.

PM’s example of appeasing hatred paved the way for this

With the example of Starmer, the Great Appeaser, to guide them, bodies like Villa’s Safety Advisory Group follow suit.

Rather than do the right thing and confront racism and hatred, if needed calling in extra resources to deal with it, they cite “elf and shaftee” as a reason for bowing to antisemitism.

Everyone can see this is wrong – including the Great Appeaser, on whose watch this comedy of errors has unfolded.
