There was standing room only at today’s launch event for the inaugural WM Life Sciences Week.
Around 100 attendees from the medical, tech and science fields filled the courtyard conferencing space at Hotel du Vin in Birmingham as the buzz built ahead of life Sciences Week in September.
Dr Richard Fallon, CEO of The Technology and a co-founder of WM Life Sciences Week, said: “Today marked the beginning of a week that will showcase just how much potential exists in this vibrant region.
“This is just the start. We’re excited for the next stages of West Midlands Life Sciences Week, which will continue to bring together brilliant minds, fresh ideas, and game-changing opportunities. The future of life sciences in the Midlands has never looked brighter.”

- Prof Gino Martini, CEO of the Precision Health Technology Accelerator.
- Melanie Davidson, CEO of MediLink Midlands.
- Lord Steve McCabe, former MP for Birmingham Selly Oak.
- Prof Alex Richter, Professor of Clinical Immunology and Director of the Clinical Immunology Services at the University of Birmingham.
- Judith Stewart, Economic, Commercial and Business Director for Health Innovation West Midlands.
