The editor of West Midlands News has been appointed as a trustee for the charity HOPE Worldwide UK.
Simon Evans, a father-of-two from Solihull, also runs his own PR consultancy and is an associate partner for Walk Through Walls, the Birmingham-based business growth advisory company in the One Thousand Trades Group.
HOPE Worldwide UK is a Christian charity which empowers people to overcome poverty and homelessness. As well as people in the UK, it helps people in need in countries including Nepal, Lebanon, Bangladesh and Zambia.
Prof. Paul Cadman, CEO of One Thousand Trades Group, said: “I congratulate Simon on his appointment as a trustee at HOPE Worldwide UK.
“We encourage everyone involved in our group of companies to give back – be that volunteering locally or offering their services pro bono to charities. Simon is one more example of this principle in action.”
Paul added: “Imagine a world where your benefit to others is the measure of success rather than the accumulation of wealth.”
Other companies in the One Thousand Trades Group include The Technology Supply Chain, Life Sciences Week, Starting Point Recruitment, Turtle Media and the Innovation Awards.
Simon’s trusteeship is an unpaid, voluntary role.
