Wolverhampton city centre came alive with colour and celebration on Saturday as hundreds gathered to mark Wolverhampton Pride 2025.
Full afternoon of entertainment
With a parade that wove through the streets from 1pm and a full afternoon of entertainment at the newly renamed Pride Plaza, the event delivered a powerful message of unity, representation and joy.
The annual celebration, which continues to grow in profile and attendance, transformed shops, businesses and public venues with rainbow-themed decorations. Organisers estimated more than 1,000 attendees participated, either marching in the parade or enjoying performances in the city’s Market Square.
Some big acts
This year’s line-up featured a headline performance from Pussycat Dolls star Kimberly Wyatt, alongside appearances by drag vocal group Queenz, Taylor Swift tribute act Lauren G, and local trans rapper Nate Ethan. The mix of mainstream pop, drag artistry and local talent reflected the diversity and inclusivity at the heart of the day.
Celebrations are set to continue with a Wolverhampton Pride picnic on Sunday at West Park from 11am, giving families and allies another opportunity to connect and celebrate.
Increasingly significant
Wolverhampton Pride has become an increasingly significant date in the city’s calendar, showcasing the strength and vibrancy of its LGBTQ+ community. With growing support from residents, performers, and local institutions, the event continues to demonstrate that Pride is as much about visibility and change as it is about celebration.
