Bushey Fields Hospital in Dudley is set to receive £1.7m of vital repairs.
Improving essential pieces of infrastructure
Water and ventilation systems will be improved along with the building’s electrics.
Sonia Kumar, MP for Dudley, said: “For too long patients in Dudley have had to deal with delays and cancellations caused by crumbling infrastructure.
“This funding is another step in Labour’s mission to rebuild public services and ensure residents receive the healthcare they deserve”.
Set to tackle disruptions
This refurb at Dudley is part of £750m being spent nationally on repairs at 400 NHS sites.
This overdue work comes after over 4,000 infrastructure-related service disruptions reported in hospitals in 2023/24, which contributed to delayed and cancelled appointments.
The government says it wants to ensure all NHS buildings are safe and functional for patients and staff.
