Swedish firm Neko Health says demand for its service grew sixfold last year
Full-body, early-detection scans are now on offer at a new Swedish health clinic in Birmingham.
Neko Health, the preventive healthcare technology company, opened its new centre in Livery Street, near Snow Hill station, after a six-fold uptick in demand for its scans from 2024 to 2025.
At full capacity, the Birmingham Health Centre will be able to deliver up to 25,000 full-body scans a year.
Non-invasive, radiation-free scans
The comprehensive, non-invasive and radiation-free health assessments take an hour to capture millions of health data points, at a cost of £299 a go.
The process uses sensors alongside blood analysis, to gauge skin health, including moles and marks, blood sugar levels to identify pre-diabetes risk, blood abnormalities and risk factors linked to metabolic syndromes, strokes and heart disease.
‘We see the consequences of late diagnosis every day’
Dr Nikita Kanani, global medical director at Neko Health, said: “In clinical practice, we see the consequences of late diagnosis every day. The ability to assess metabolic, cardiovascular, and dermatological risks in a single, non-invasive visit represents an important step forward in preventive healthcare.
“What makes the Neko Body Scan unique is that we bring multiple assessments together in one streamlined pathway, giving members a clearer picture of their health earlier and allowing clinicians to intervene sooner when needed.”
Customers’ results avilable immediately and are then discussed with a medical professional.

Stockholm data: people from 28 to 81 had their lives saved
Neko said data from its operation in Stockholm, in 2024, showed 81.3 % of customers had no health issues while 18.7% required medical treatment, with 1.2% receiving potentially life-saving care for severe conditions such as cardiovascular disease, serious metabolic disorders and skin cancer.
The age range of those receiving life-saving treatment was 28 to 81 years. Of those 73% were men and 27% were women
Hjalmar Nilsonne, CEO and co-founder of Neko Health, added: “At Neko we’re building a completely new healthcare experience, one that puts prevention first.
“We’ve been blown away by the response across the UK, and especially in Birmingham, where thousands of people have already joined our waitlist. That’s why I’m thrilled that our first new location opening in 2026 will be in this great city.”
Neko says nearly 80% of its customers choose to rebook and prepay for their next scan the following year.
