Iain McCallister named ‘Business Person of the Year’

The boss of Solihull-based MAN Commercial Protection has been named ‘Business Person of the Year’ at the Signature Awards in Birmingham.

Judges handed Iain McCallister the accolade after hearing how he built the UK’s largest privately-owned security firm, which now employs 1,600 people and turns over £60m annually. 

“This award recognises our team’s enterprising spirit and service excellence,” McCallister said, crediting his workforce for embodying the company’s values.

‘A fantastic ambassador for the West Midlands’

MAN serves corporate clients across commercial, property, logistics and manufacturing sectors, while expanding into boxing, music events and football stadium security.

Starting 33 years ago after working doors at clubs in Birmingham, McCallister has championed industry reputation through investments in training, safety and technology. The company is currently pursuing growth through acquisitions.

Ninder Johal, founder of Nachural Group, which runs the Signature Awards, praised McCallister as “a fantastic ambassador for the West Midlands.” 

Johal said McCallister’s business acumen and the company’s expansion into domestic and international sporting events bodes well for the future.
