BCRS Business Loans is redoubling its commitment to supporting organisations in the West Midlands and Wales
Wolverhampton-based BCRS Business Loans has awarded £41,000 in new funding to South Wales charity Purple Shoots.
The loans firm said this demonstrated its ongoing commitment to supporting micro-entrepreneurship across Wales and the West Midlands.
The investment will enable Pontypridd-based Purple Shoots to continue providing microloans of up to £5,000 to individuals unable to access traditional finance.
As an evergreen grant, loan repayments will be recycled to fund future borrowers, extending the charity’s reach even further.
‘Without this support, I wouldn’t be able to do this’
The latest funding follows a previous grant that helped Purple Shoots support 10 businesses across the region. Among those set to benefit from the continued investment is Stefan Hunt from Brierley Hill, who will next month open his personal training business, S93.
“The money has been a game-changer and is helping to make my business dreams a reality,” said Hunt.
“Without Purple Shoots, and BCRS’ support for the organisation, I wouldn’t be able to do this.”
Stephen Deakin, Chief Executive of BCRS Business Loans, said the partnership reflected a broader mission to back entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of their journey. “In many cases, we are talking to and backing our customers of the future,” he said.
Karen Davies, CEO of Purple Shoots, welcomed the funding: “This additional investment means we can help even more people turn their ideas into sustainable businesses.”
Founded in 2002, BCRS has provided more than £100 million in loans to businesses across the region. For more information, visit www.bcrs.org.uk.
