Keon Homes delivers 30 affordable properties early as part of 124-home regeneration scheme on brownfield site

The first 30 homes at Birmingham’s £36m Port Loop urban regeneration scheme have been handed over ahead of schedule.

Keon Homes, working alongside sister company Cameron Homes, completed the two and three-bedroom properties for housing association partner Midland Heart.

Matt Beckley, Partnerships Director at Keon Homes, said: “We came in and promised to build the 124 properties on time and to the highest standards and this first handover, ahead of schedule, reaffirms that commitment.

“More importantly, we have delivered 30 much-needed affordable homes to individuals and families, giving them the opportunity to start new lives.”

Sustainable design at the heart of the scheme

All homes feature sustainable timber frame construction, electric heating, hot water heat pumps and solar panels, making them zero carbon-ready.

The development is the fifth scheme Keon Homes has completed in partnership with Midland Heart, having recorded a £60m turnover in 2025. Around 90% of its supply chain is based within 25 miles of the site, with 15 apprentices employed on the project.

Joe Reeves, Deputy Chief Executive at Midland Heart, said: “These properties reflect our commitment to delivering sustainable, well-designed places where people can thrive.”
