Popular road race also unveils new, faster route through the town

Organisers of the Caerphilly 10K have released an additional 500 race places after the initial allocation sold out within days of going on sale.

The Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K, which takes place on Sunday May 10, has already attracted thousands of runners to its start line, prompting Sport Caerphilly to expand capacity to meet continuing demand.

Entries for the newly released places are available at www.caerphilly10k.co.uk, though organisers have warned that remaining spots are expected to go quickly.

This year’s event will also feature a redesigned route through Caerphilly, with organisers saying the new course has been developed to offer a faster and more enjoyable run for participants of all abilities, including those targeting a personal best.

The race is delivered by Sport Caerphilly as part of the council’s Sport and Active Recreation Strategy 2019-29, which is aimed at increasing opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to engage with sport and physical activity across the borough.

Runners are being encouraged to register without delay to avoid missing out.
