Mark Gower joins Coventry autonomous vehicle specialist as firm scales up commercial deployments worldwide
Coventry-based autonomy software and autonomous vehicle company Aurrigo International has appointed Mark Gower as director of global airport operations.
The newly created role is designed to support the firm’s next phase of commercial growth.
Gower said: “Aurrigo has already made strong progress in getting its technology into live airport operations.
“I’m joining at a point where there’s a clear opportunity to build consistency and scale from that foundation.”
Gower brings more than 25 years’ experience in safety-critical aviation operations, most recently as managing director of Gatwick ground services, a wholly owned subsidiary of British Airways, where he grew the workforce from 340 to more than 1,200 employees.
He has also held senior leadership positions at Aviator Airport Alliance, overseeing around 8,000 staff across five UK locations.
New manufacturing hub
The appointment coincides with Aurrigo beginning production at a new 130,615 sq ft manufacturing hub on Power Park in Coventry – more than three times the size of its previous facility – where its Auto-DollyTug, Auto-Cargo and Auto-Shuttle vehicles are now being built.
The site also features an on-site autonomous vehicle test track.
Prof. David Keene MBE, CEO of Aurrigo International, said: “His background in large-scale airport operations and delivery will be a strong addition to the team.”
