Compton Care named as Weston Park’s charity of the year
A Wolverhampton-based charity providing specialist palliative and end-of-life care has been named as Weston Park’s charity of the year as the historic stately home celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Compton Care, based in Compton, Wolverhampton, offers vital support to people living with complex and life-limiting conditions, as well as to their families. It costs £10 million every year to run its clinical services, of which 60 per cent is funded through community support.
Weston Park, the award-winning stately home on the Staffordshire and Shropshire border, selects a charity partner each year to support through a range of fundraising initiatives. Last year, the estate raised £7,885 for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
Marking a milestone
Colin Sweeney, chief executive officer of the Weston Park Foundation, said: “We are proud to be supporting Compton Care as our charity partner for 2026.
“Its work makes a profound difference to so many individuals and families, and this partnership reflects our commitment to supporting charities that have a meaningful impact within our local communities.”
Fundraising efforts will include optional donations added to event ticket sales and donation stations set up across the estate.
Kate Kelly, corporate, trusts and major donor manager at Compton Care, said: “Weston Park’s generosity will help us continue providing compassionate, specialist care to people living with life-limiting conditions.
“We look forward to working together to make a real difference.”
