A mobile cancer screening unit is rolling into Solihull this week to save lives by detecting potential cancers before symptoms emerge.
Solihull MP and former surgeon Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst has urged residents to take advantage of the NHS Cancer Screening Tour Bus when it visits the region this month.
The mobile unit will be in Mell Square on Tuesday June 25 from 0930 to 1600.
‘Screening saves lives,’ says local MP
Dr Shastri-Hurst said: “Screening can detect a problem before symptoms even appear when treatment is most effective and outcomes are improved. This initiative has the potential to save lives and I urge every eligible individual to attend.”
Early diagnosis improves outcomes
Cancer screening is designed to identify apparently healthy people who may be at risk of serious illness. Detecting cancer early significantly improves treatment success and long-term outcomes.
Empowering residents to take action
The tour bus forms part of a national NHS campaign to improve access to healthcare and reduce avoidable deaths.
