With families in England spending an average of £217 per person per trip last year, West Midlands Railway has unveiled six money-saving tips for budget-friendly summer travel.
Tip 1. Children under five travel free with a fare-paying adult, no ticket required.
Tip 2. Train passengers can enjoy up to 50% off at nearly 200 attractions, including Cadbury World and Sea Life Centre, via vouchers on the WMR website.
Tip 3. For just £1 per child plus an adult off-peak fare, families get unlimited travel in London Zones 1-6.
Tip 4. Children aged five-to-15 always get 50% off adult fares.
Tip 5. A £35 Family & Friends Railcard offers one third off for adults and 60% off for children.
Tip 6. Finally, nTrain or nNetwork season ticket holders can bring an adult and up to two kids for a £1 return fare.
