An England rugby shirt signed by the players who beat Wales by a record 68-14 in Cardiff last weekend is among the auction items at an event this Saturday to raise funds for Fisher House, which cares for injured military personnel from the UK and around the world.
One Thousand Trades Group, including the Technology Supply Chain and Starting Point Recruitment, is hosting Mud, Sweat and Cheers at Birmingham Moseley rugby club, with the local side set to face visitors Darlington Mowden Park.
The recipient of the fundraising, Fisher House, is part of Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The 18-bedroom haven provides a “home away from home” for injured service personnel, allowing them to stay close to loved ones while receiving treatment.
Prof. Paul Cadman, chief executive of One Thousand Trades Group, said: “Whether you’re coming on the day to support, or digging deep post-event, thank you for your support to help Fisher House continue its important work helping our military heroes.”
Among the hundreds of guests set to attend the event is Tim Stimpson, 51, former Leicester Tigers, England and British & Irish Lions full back.

As well as the signed England rugby shirt, charity auction items include a signed Birmingham Blues football club shirt and a cricket bat signed by members of the England squad from the 2017 West Indies Test series.
Moseley RFC currently sits eighth in the English National League 1. Darlington lies bottom of the table in 14th.
