A fast-growing professional services firm has moved into Hereford with the launch of its fifth office.
CY Group, which recently rebranded from Currie Young, has opened a dedicated base in the Rural Enterprise Centre in a bid to provide insolvency and restructuring, advisory, commercial funding and consultancy to its growing client base in the region.
Making the most of the move will be experienced industry professional Louise Hookham, who joins the business as Director alongside insolvency administrators Emilia Riches, Alina Radley and Lily Harkins.
Having worked together for several years, the established team brings deep local knowledge, longstanding professional relationships and significant experience of advising businesses across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Together they will look to explore considerable market potential, as well as reinforcing its commitment to building a boutique advisory firm focused on trusted relationships, commercial thinking and senior-level knowledge that delivers stronger outcomes and clearer futures.
“This isn’t growth for growth’s sake. Every decision we make must improve what we can offer clients and strengthen the relationships we’ve built,” explained Justin Brown, Director of CY Group.
“Launching in Herefordshire is a major milestone for our business and gives us an immediate presence in the town and nearby areas, including clients in Worcestershire.”
He continued: “Louise and the team have an excellent reputation, know their local market exceptionally well and share the same values that matter to us, which focuses on being approachable, commercial and focused on doing the right thing for business owners.”
Louise Hookham, newly appointed Director at CY Group, added her support:”Relationships are so important in our profession and we’ve spent years building trusted relationships with business owners, accountants, solicitors and lenders across Herefordshire.
“What attracted us to CY Group is its ambition and the genuine commitment to maintaining a personal, relationship-led approach. The culture felt like a natural fit from the very start.
“We’ll continue to be the same experienced and accessible team that local businesses know, now backed by the wider expertise and capabilities of the group. It’s an exciting opportunity and one we’re all looking forward to.”
CY Group, which is headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent and boasts offices in Romsley, Lichfield and Manchester, completed its rebrand in July this year.
It marks the firm’s vision of creating a broader advisory business that supports owners through every stage of the lifecycle, from growth and funding through to strategic planning, restructuring and recovery.
In addition to expansion into Herefordshire, the company has also sealed the strategic appointment of Jim Goudie as Insolvency Manager covering the West Midlands.
Justin went on to add: “Our ‘USP’ is that we are ‘boutique by choice’. Many of us have worked at the large corporates and decided we want to do things differently, so we’ve angled ourselves as disruptive with the rebrand.
“Future expansion will focus on a mix of organic growth and potential future mergers and acquisitions, taking the CY name into new regional areas that are missing a partner they can trust.”
CY Group has been involved in several high-profile insolvencies this year, including the administration of Nottingham-based Focus Label Machinery and the sale of fish wholesaler NDI Trading.
