Russia provokes US

US-Russia tensions are rising as President Donald Trump says he has ordered two nuclear submarines to be positioned in “appropriate regions.”

This comes after “highly provocative” comments by former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, said Trump.

The deployment underscores rising concerns over geopolitical stability as relations between the two powers continue to deteriorate.

Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, sparked the controversy with remarks that US officials deem threatening.

This development comes against the backdrop of Russia’s war in Ukraine, which has already strained diplomatic ties to breaking point.

Trump said of Medvedev: “His words are reckless and dangerous. The United States will not stand idly by while our security and that of our allies is threatened. These submarines send a clear signal: we’re ready to act.”

The nuclear submarines, equipped with advanced missile systems, represent a significant show of force.

Analysts suggest they could be deployed to the North Atlantic or Pacific, key areas for monitoring Russian movements.

Russia has not yet issued an official response, but Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called the American action “predictable posturing.”

With both nations wielding nuclear arsenals, observers warn any missteps could have catastrophic consequences. For now, the world waits anxiously for Russia’s next move
