Tamworth and Stafford openings
Reproductive healthcare provider MSI Reproductive Choices has opened two new abortion clinics in Tamworth and Stafford.
This extends NHS-funded services across the West Midlands and follows the launch of a Dudley clinic earlier this year.
The centres, commissioned by Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board, offer same-day in-person medical abortion appointments.
Patients can also use MSI’s telemedicine service to consult a nurse over the phone and take medical abortion pills at home.
Wider reproductive services
In addition to abortion care, patients can access a full range of contraceptive methods, as well as screening for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV. MSI also provides a 24-hour aftercare line and access to independent counsellors registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Suzanne Dickinson, Head of NHS Contracts at MSI, said: “Our goal is to ensure that everyone can make the right choice for their own body, so we are delighted to be expanding access to abortion care in the West Midlands through our new, local centres.”
Booking and support
Appointments can be made via MSI’s national contact centre on 0345 300 8090, or through its online booking system and chat service. The charity says these options give patients a safe, confidential and quick way to arrange care.
