Stately home on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border generates funds for five life-saving missions

A stately home on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border has raised £7,885 for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC).

Weston Park nominated MAAC as its charity for 2025, generating the funds through a mix of activities and gifts in kind across the year.

Ticketed events, including Spring Fling!, Summer Fiesta and a bonfire and fireworks evening, raised £1,390.22 through optional donations added to ticket sales, alongside contributions collected at charity stands across the estate.

A further £6,495 came from gifts in kind, including donations through Weston’s on-site donation station, raffle prizes for fundraising events, and use of the estate’s grounds to film a case study.

Life-saving missions

The total raised are enough to finance two air ambulance missions and three critical care missions.

Colin Sweeney, CEO of Weston Park, said: “We are delighted to have played a small part in supporting the work of Midlands Air Ambulance and want to thank our visitors for their generosity.”

Sophia Baker, corporate partnership lead at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “The commitment helps ensure our crews can be there for people across the Midlands when they need us most.”

Weston Park, itself an independent charity, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, marking four decades since the estate was gifted to the nation by the Earl of Bradford.

The Weston team has named Compton Care, near Wolverhampton, as its nominated charity for 2026.
