Beloved BBC radio drama on tour as cast of Ambridge favourites take the stage across the UK
One of Britain’s most cherished radio programmes is leaving the studio for the first time in a major live tour marking 75 years on air.
The Archers: Live at 75 runs from June to November 2026, bringing the world’s longest-running radio drama to stages across the United Kingdom.
Hosted by award-winning comedian and self-confessed Archers devotee Angela Barnes, each performance features four cast members alongside Vanessa Nuttall, the programme’s live sound-effects specialist, whose craft brings the fields, kitchens and barns of Ambridge vividly to life on stage.
Stoke-on-Trent date confirmed
The tour arrives in Stoke-on-Trent with the so-called Produce Cast: Charles Collingwood, who plays Brian Aldridge; Ryan Kelly as Jazzer McCreary; Susie Riddell as Tracy Horrobin; and Sunny Ormonde as Lilian Bellamy. Other dates feature the Flower Cast, including Tim Bentinck, who plays David Archer, and Charlotte Martin as Susan Carter.
Set within a playful reimagining of the Ambridge Flower and Produce Show, the evening promises on-stage interviews, specially written scenes performed live, archive material spanning seven decades, a pub quiz inspired by The Bull, and a sing-along to the programme’s famous theme tune.
A British institution at 75
First broadcast in January 1951, The Archers airs six times a week and has run for more than 20,000 episodes. It currently tops BBC Sounds’ on-demand charts across all age groups, including listeners under 35.
Barnes said she was “obsessed with all things Ambridge” and described being asked to host as like winning at the Flower and Produce Show and being cast in a Lynda Snell production simultaneously.
