Birmingham’s Arcadian restaurant is giving diners twice the shellfish this May

Birmingham restaurant Seafood City is celebrating its second anniversary with a generous birthday offer for diners, doubling up on prawns at no extra cost.

The Arcadian eatery caused a sensation when it launched in May 2024, introducing the city to the Cajun seafood boil, a cooking method rooted in the American Deep South that seals in rich oceanic flavours.

Demand was so fierce on opening weekend that more than 200 people had to be turned away.

Throughout May, customers dining on Wednesdays and Fridays will receive double the prawns across all menu items, including platters, combos and add-ons, at the standard price.

Going big for the birthday

Founder Oliver Ngo said: “We took a leap of faith bringing the viral seafood boil trend to Birmingham and had no idea how popular it was going to be.

“Picture a platter arriving with twice the king prawns, same garlic butter, same chilli hit, same price, just more of everything.”

The offer is limited to 20 bookings per week on a first-come, first-served basis, so diners are encouraged to act quickly to avoid missing out.
