Lesters Logistics has grown its workforce by 20% following rising demand for third-party fulfilment services
One of the UK’s leading third-party logistics providers is recruiting after expanding its presence in the medical, healthcare and construction sectors.
Lesters Logistics, based in a 30,000 sq ft facility in Warwickshire, has grown its workforce by 20% to meet rising demand for e-commerce fulfilment, pick and pack, and storage and distribution services.
The company has also completed the final phase of a £510,000 investment programme by installing a new mezzanine floor, allowing more stock to be held on-site and reducing the risk of supply shortages for clients.
Reiss Newport, director of Lesters Logistics, said: “The last 12 months has seen revenue increase across all our key markets, driven by a desire to outsource fulfilment rather than managing it in-house.
“We noticed this trend about three years ago and pivoted from a logistics business to a 3PL provider, investing in new technology, facilities and, importantly, our workforce.”
People at the heart of growth
Newport said the company’s success was built on its team despite increasing use of automation. “I can’t stress how important our people are to the business. Despite a tough recruitment market, we’ve been successful in attracting talented people who are keen to work in a business that is constantly asking what’s next.”
Founded in 2019 following the acquisition of SL Packaging and Transport, Lesters Logistics forms part of a wider group offering services from bespoke packaging design through to UK-wide fulfilment.
Newport said: “There are plans to look at a second site, potentially in Staffordshire, that will give us even greater coverage in the Midlands and the North.”
