Two members of staff from the Royal Court Hotel in Coventry are set to complete a skydive to raise money for local baby hospice Zoe’s Place.

The Royal Court Hotel has supported Zoe’s Place for almost a decade, raising funds through a range of collaborations and networking events. This October, the team are taking things up a notch with an exhilarating skydive in aid of the children’s charity.

Multi-Cultural Sales Executive Elka Akram and Marketing Executive Chris Fernandez will take to the skies to complete the jump, adding to the substantial sum already raised by the Coventry hotel.

The historic Royal Court Hotel is part of The Elite Venue Selection portfolio. The Grade II-listed building blends historic character with modern facilities, including elegant bedrooms, an on-site restaurant, a health and leisure club, and multiple function rooms. In recent years, the hotel has served as the primary venue for Zoe’s Place’s fundraising events, including its annual “Strictly Christmas” fundraising gala.

Now in its 9th year, Strictly Christmas pairs novice dancers with experienced partners to learn ballroom and Latin routines over eight weeks, culminating in the gala performance.

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice supports babies and young children who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Opened in 2011, the hospice provides respite, end-of-life and palliative care for babies and children from across the Midlands with life-limiting conditions and complex needs.

Tracey Wyke, Sales Manager at the Royal Court Hotel, commented: “It’s been an absolute pleasure to work with Zoe’s Place and see the incredible work they do every single day. The skydive is one of our most exciting collaborations yet, and we hope the local community will get behind Elka and Chris with a donation as they take on this incredible feat.”

Karen Mulvaney, Corporate Fundraiser at Zoe’s Place, commented: “We were thrilled to hear that the Royal Court wanted to do more to support the charity. This has been a wonderful partnership that has provided us with generous donations that continue to make a difference for local children and their families. We wish Elka and Chris the best of luck with their skydive, and we’re so grateful for their support.”
