Shropshire firm positioning itself for growth in the US

Bridgnorth Aluminium, the UK’s last remaining producer of flat rolled aluminium coils, is set to return to 24/7 operations in key process areas despite challenging economic conditions.

This is the first time in three years the company has reached such production levels, and it is expected to create new jobs in Bridgnorth and the surrounding areas.

The firm employs 330 people on its 66-acre site and has a strong history of supporting local apprentices, trainees and supply chains.

Commercial director Adrian Musgrave said: “Aluminium is taking on a far greater significance and profile as we move towards net zero, with the material ideally suited for recycling, lightweighting and for use in batteries and renewable power generation.”

He added that recent investments and staff training position the company well for export growth, particularly in the US market, where it retains advantages despite tariffs.

Shropshire Investors in Community

Bridgnorth Aluminium has also joined the Shropshire Investors in Community scheme, pledging support for local charities and grassroots groups throughout 2026.

Adrian added: “Bridgnorth Aluminium could genuinely serve as the model enterprise the UK government wants to promote. A major employer, significant exporter, investing heavily in supplying ‘green’ aluminium to some of the country’s fastest growing markets, not to mention being an important cog in the much-vaunted circular economy.”
