Pink Storage, one of the UK’s fastest-growing innovators in self-storage, has unveiled a striking new lighting system at its Birmingham site.
The firm has fitted 60,000 individually controlled LEDs to create one of the country’s most advanced and interactive storage facilities.
The LEDs act like pixels in a giant digital display, each fully programmable to communicate in real time with customers and staff.
Signals include a Pink Pulse brand ‘heartbeat’, green arrows for gate opening, a red X for payment required and a red/blue alert for intruder detection.
As well as delivering a dramatic visual effect, the system boosts roadside visibility and strengthens security.
Pink Storage undergoing rapid nationwide expansion
The lighting forms a centrepiece of Pink Storage’s new 43,000 sq ft flagship facility on Kingsbury Road, Birmingham, launched as part of the company’s rapid national expansion.
The site includes fully automated PIN-code access, 24/7 CCTV and digital onboarding, offering a slick, staff-free customer experience built around convenience, safety and speed.
CEO Scott Evans says the LED rollout marks the beginning of a much broader tech-led transformation for the company.
“Pink Storage continues to drive its AI ambitions forward with multiple forward-thinking projects. And it doesn’t stop here – humanoid robots, autonomous drones and more are all part of our roadmap,” he said.
With plans to introduce the LED system across all 24 sites, Pink Storage is positioning itself as the UK’s most technology-driven operator – proving that even storage units can be smart, secure and spectacular.
