EcoFlow, a global portable power and home energy solutions firm, has chosen Birmingham as the location for its UK headquarters.
Its new UK base, at Bruntwood SciTech’s Innovation Birmingham campus, in the city’s Knowledge Quarter, will create 35 new jobs in areas including engineering, customer service, marketing, and business development.
Located in China, the US and Germany, EcoFlow is supporting the global transition towards renewable energy by developing portable power products, solar technology and smart home energy solutions.
The deal was brokered by West Midlands Mayor, Richard Parker, on his recent trade mission to China, the West Midlands Combined Authority said.
Mr Parker said: “Our region is open for business. We’re ready to welcome more forward-thinking investors who share our ambition to make the West Midlands a global leader in cutting-edge battery technology and clean energy.”
Ryan Xing, Managing Director of EcoFlow Europe, said: “The West Midlands is leading the UK’s green industrial revolution, making it a stand-out destination for our new UK Headquarters. This investment marks a significant milestone in EcoFlow’s expansion, reinforcing our commitment to the UK market.
EcoFlow is expected to move into its new UK headquarters in June.
This news comes after EY, in its latest regional economic forecast, said the West Midlands region’s GVA (gross value added) would grow by 1.6% a year from 2025 to 2028.
