Frozen food retailer takes 800,000 sq ft at logistics park in national expansion deal

Farmfoods, the frozen food retailer, has signed a record 25-year lease on a new base in the West Midlands as part of its national expansion strategy.

The firm, which started as a family butcher shop in Aberdeen, has taken all three Logicor units at the 800,000 sq ft site in Daventry in Northamptonshire.

The site will be used for frozen and ambient storage, transportation and recycling.

This deal comes after a 20-year lease signed between the two parties in 2020 for a 262,000 sq ft unit in Solihull.

Logicor originally acquired the Daventry site in 2021 before reconfiguring it from a single asset into three separate units.

The Daventry site is one of the UK’s most sought-after logistics locations, where demand for modern, high-quality distribution space continues to grow.

Ready to move

Anthony McCluskie, senior director at Logicor, said: “We’re delighted to have signed a record-length lease on this first-class asset with our existing customer, Farmfoods.

“Our ongoing and close engagement meant that we understood their requirements necessary for growth across the UK, and as Logicor Park Daventry was speculatively built, we had a building immediately available that would meet their needs.”

Farmfoods has served customers across Britain for more than 60 years. It has 300 stores and four distribution centres nationwide.
