The bakery chain has opened a new shop in Walsall today, bringing eight new jobs to the town.

Greggs has opened a new shop in Walsall, creating eight jobs for the local area.

The shop opened on Tuesday 29 September with a modern new look and indoor seating for customers.

It will sell the chain’s regular range, including its Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and Vegan Roll (Pork Free), as well as the Steak & Stilton Bake, which is now available nationwide. Iced drinks are also on offer, including the new Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte.

The Walsall shop will also stock the Buffalo Chicken Baguette, a new addition to the menu made with buffalo-style chicken mayonnaise, mature Cheddar and red onion.

Greggs’ Big Deal, which combines a drink, a side and a main, is available throughout the day from £5.25.

In the evening, customers can choose from hot food including Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, Hot Cinnamon Yum Yums and pizza slices, with new Buffalo Chicken, BBQ Chicken & Bacon and Veggie Feast varieties.

Delivery is available through Just Eat and Uber Eats, and customers can order ahead through Click + Collect on the Greggs App. App users receive one free item for every nine purchases in certain categories, such as hot drinks and sandwiches. New users also get a free hot or iced drink on registration and a free sweet treat on their birthday each year.

Gillian Long, Retail Operations Director for Greggs, said: “Our new shop in Walsall has brought eight new jobs to the local area, as well as providing customers with a modern, convenient new place to experience their Greggs favourites.”

The shop will open from 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and from 8am to 5pm on Sunday.

Any further vacancies at the Walsall shop will be advertised at careers.greggs.co.uk.

A couple of things to note: the press release doesn’t give the shop’s address or location within Walsall, so it would be worth adding that before publishing if Greggs can confirm it, as readers will want to know where it is. I’ve also removed the promotional language (“iconic”, “delicious”, “just £5.25”) so it reads as news rather than advertising.
