Work is under way to build a new Health Innovation College in Dudley.

The £26m the facility, which aims to open in 2026, is being built at Castle Hill.

The Dudley Town Board, including Dudley Council and Dudley College of Technology, is overseeing the project.

The University of Worcester will run a nursing college from the site, which will provide teaching and learning for university-level courses centres around the health care sector including nursing, midwifery and paramedic science.

Significant collaboration

The development comes on the back of the successful developments in the Dudley Learning Quarter and the creation of the Black Country and Marches Institute of Technology.

Councillor Paul Bradley, deputy leader of Dudley Council, said: ‘We are incredibly lucky to be working with Dudley College, the University of Worcester and our partners to bring this project to the borough… [it] will create a much-needed health care sector campus’.

Work started on Dudley Health Innovation College back in September.

The following organisations are involved in the scheme:

  • Vinci Building UK – construction
  • Derry Building Services – MEP contractor
  • Cullinan Studio – architects and sustainability consultants
  • Stephen George + Partners – BIM and Digital specialists
  • Cundall – Civil, Structural and MEP designers
  • Dudley Council – commissioning body
