Two refurbished units snapped up 10 months after previous tenant vacates
Logicor has completed two lettings at Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT).
Widely viewed as one of the UK’s leading distribution locations, the Northamptonshire site has signed up two new customers in one go.
UK third-party logistics business Menzies Distribution Solutions Limited has taken DIRFT150, a 143,155 sq ft unit, to meet urgent demand for additional warehouse capacity and support expansion of its customer base across the UK.
The neighbouring 204,660 sq ft unit, DIRFT200, has been let to DCG Logistics UK, an expanding Chinese 3PL (third-party logistics) operator making its debut in Logicor’s portfolio.
DCG will use the space to support a global technology manufacturer client seeking to grow its UK presence.
Strategic location
DIRFT’s direct access to Junction 18 of the M1, and its position just four miles from the M6 intersection, make it among the most sought-after distribution parks in the country.
Tom Blakely, director of asset management at Logicor, said: “Signing two new customers to the recently refurbished units at DIRFT in such quick succession is a clear indication of the strength of demand from distribution and 3PL customers for quality assets in great locations.”
Richard Morson, CEO of Menzies Distribution Solutions, said the letting was “an important milestone” in the company’s strategic growth plan.
Will Liang, head of UK and EU at DCG Logistics UK, said the quality of the refurbished space made the decision “straightforward.”
