M&S in Tamworth has hired 50 seasonal workers to support its festive sales rush.

The new recruits are joining 280 existing staff members at the store in the Venture Retail Park.

The Tamworth outlet is celebrating its 20th anniversary having opened in 2005, and since having been expanded and refurbished including last year.

Store manager Russ Tatton said: “I’ve always loved this store. It has such a family feel among colleagues and customers, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.

“Returning two years ago and overseeing the renewal last year was such a fantastic journey, and we’ve gone from strength to strength ever since.

“The best part is watching our café quickly become a community hub, where locals gather for a proper catch up.

“The Parent Hood, our weekly parent and baby catch-ups, is especially popular with around 40 parents joining in every Tuesday.

“We have an incredible team and it’s amazing timing to have so many anniversaries to celebrate this year.

“We can’t wait to keep serving our customers and delivering the very best of M&S for the community in the years to come.”
