Role required to run its new sixth form centre

Telford College is recruiting to fill 20 roles currently available across its campuses.

Vacancies span a range of lecturer, teaching and support positions at its Wellington campus and at the new Telford sixth form centre under construction in the town centre.

Roles cover a broad range of curriculum areas, including automotive, engineering, psychology and criminology.

The college attracts nearly half of all 16 to 17-year-old school leavers in the borough, with strong demand for both vocational and A-level courses.

College targets ambitious educators

Principal and chief executive Lawrence Wood said the college is looking for teachers driven by outcomes and committed to raising aspirations among young people.

He described Telford 6th as a purpose-built, superbly equipped facility at the heart of the town, adding that the opportunity extended well beyond a single building.

The college has also introduced a PGCE route for new teaching staff, replacing its previous in-house training model and giving appointees access to a nationally recognised qualification.
