Financial inclusion in the West Midlands has received a major boost as Citysave Credit Union and Fusion Credit Union formally merge.
The partnership unites two community-focused financial organisations into a stronger, more resilient credit union committed to serving individuals and businesses with ethical, accessible services.
All Fusion Credit Union members have now automatically become part of Citysave, bringing enhanced access to fair loans, savings products, and modern digital tools.
The merger extends Citysave’s reach across Birmingham, Sandwell, Warwickshire, Cannock Chase, South Staffordshire, Solihull, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Lichfield, with the goal of empowering more people to take control of their finances.
The merged credit union’s focus remains to provide fair, transparent and secure financial services that strengthen both communities and workplaces across the region.
Lifelines to those who might fall victim to loan sharks
Sean Lynch, CEO of Citysave, said: “By combining our strengths, we are better positioned to offer a lifeline to those who might otherwise fall victim to predatory lending. We’re committed to offering fair loans, rewarding savings, and the tools needed to manage money with confidence.”
Janet Bamber, chair of Fusion Credit Union, said: “Our combined teams are dedicated to continuing the trusted, community-focused financial support that residents rely on.”
