Michael Scott, Director of West Midlands-based 2580 Group, has welcomed the news that the business has been shortlisted in four categories at the Growing Business Awards 2026.
The company has been shortlisted for Growing Business of the Year: Turnover up to £5m, B2B Business of the Year, Construction & Property Services Business of the Year and Growing Business of the Year: Midlands.
For Scott and the wider team, the four shortlistings mark another step forward for a business that has continued to grow since it was founded in 2019.
2580 Group began as a specialist data cabling company and has since grown into an established infrastructure business working with organisations across the West Midlands, the UK and Europe.
The company has now completed more than 900 projects, including recent work at well-known sporting, exhibition and live events venues in the region.
Commenting on the announcement, Scott said: “Being shortlisted for one category last year was a great achievement for us, so to be recognised across four different categories this year shows just how much progress we have made in a relatively short space of time.
“The business has continued to grow; we have taken on different types of work and developed the support we provide to customers, but none of that happens without the team behind it. Everyone has contributed to getting us to this point. It is really great to be recognised in this way.”
Over the past year, the business has secured work with larger organisations, completed projects in new sectors and delivered its first European project for an existing international customer.
The overseas opportunity followed work the team had previously carried out for the customer in the West Midlands.
Scott added: “A lot of our growth has come through customers trusting us with more responsibility and coming back to us for further work.
“The European project was a good example of that. It came from a relationship we had already developed locally and showed that the standards we apply to our work in the Midlands can also create opportunities elsewhere.
“We are always straightforward in the way we work. Good communication, reliability and doing the job properly are all fairly simple things, but they can make a world of difference to customers.”
2580 Group is forecasting strong year-on-year revenue growth. The business has also increased its recurring revenue by providing a wider range of support to existing customers and developing more long-term working relationships.
Scott continued: “We are now competing for work alongside much larger organisations and winning projects with businesses that expect a very high standard from their suppliers.
“We are delighted to be recognised alongside some excellent businesses from across the UK, and we are looking forward to attending the award ceremony, meeting the other finalists and celebrating what has been a positive year for the whole team.”
The Growing Business Awards recognise growing and entrepreneurial businesses from across the UK. The winners will be announced at Hilton London Bankside on Thursday 26 November 2026.
