Elmhurst Ballet School is inviting adult dancers of all ages and abilities to its Silver Swans Summer Retreat this July, with a special focus on learners aged 55 and over.

Running from Monday July 13 to Thursday July 16 with arrival on Sunday 12th, the retreat promises an immersive yet relaxed programme designed to rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing and celebrate the joy of movement.

What’s on offer?

At the core of the retreat are Royal Academy of Dance-accredited Silver Swans sessions, a programme developed specifically to support ballet learning for those aged 55 and upwards, with a focus on mobility, posture, coordination and musicality in an inclusive environment.

The wider timetable includes Pilates-style warm-ups, daily ballet technique classes, repertoire sessions, and workshops in jazz and Bollywood dance. Evening activities range from wine tasting with Loki Wine to craft sessions and a visit to Martineau Gardens.

Denise Whiteman, Director of Dance Training at Elmhurst Ballet School, said: “This retreat brings together expert teaching, a beautiful setting and a strong sense of community, we look forward to welcoming dancers of all backgrounds this summer.”

Pricing starts at £70 for a day rate, rising to £250 for a non-residential four-day package and £575 for the full residential experience including accommodation and meals. Spaces are limited and a £70 deposit is required to book. Visit elmhurstballetschool.org for details
