Beacon Centre for the Blind benefits from year-long fundraising partnership

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce has raised £3,700 for Beacon Centre for the Blind, a charity supporting people living with sight loss across the region.

Beacon was the Chamber’s charity of the year for 2025/26, coinciding with the organisation’s 150th anniversary.

Funds were raised through a series of events, including a Heads or Tails game at the Business Awards and a raffle at the International Women’s Day event in March.

Chamber chief executive Sarah Moorhouse said: “It’s been a privilege to raise so much money for Beacon Centre for the Blind during its 150th anniversary year.

“This has been a real team effort and we hope our year-long partnership has helped raise awareness of the incredible work Beacon does in helping people live well with sight loss.”

Looking ahead

Lisa Sadler-Todd, chief executive of Beacon Centre, said the funds “will make a real difference” in helping the charity continue to provide vital support across the region.

Black Country Women’s Aid (BCWA), an independent charity marking its 40th anniversary this year, has been named as the Chamber’s new charity of the year.

The organisation supports survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, modern slavery and stalking.

The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is the leading business support organisation across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall.
