Aurrigo International has opened a 130,000 sq ft facility to meet rising global demand for its self-driving airport vehicles

Autonomous software and robotics firm Aurrigo International plc has opened a major new manufacturing facility at Power Park in Coventry, more than tripling the size of its previous base.

The 130,615 sq ft site will serve as the operational hub for Aurrigo’s global commercialisation strategy, following a successful £14.1 million fundraising round. At full capacity, the facility can produce more than 500 autonomous vehicles a year.

Contracts and commercial momentum

The new site will immediately support a £6.28 million contract to deliver 25 autonomous guided vehicles for Ultra Global, with the broader production capability underpinning a licensing programme targeting Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the United States.

The facility also features a dedicated autonomous test track to accelerate development and in-house validation of Aurrigo’s vehicle portfolio, which includes the Auto-DollyTug and Auto-Shuttle.

Chief executive Professor David Keene MBE said the move reflected an “unwavering commitment to the UK,” adding that the site provided the “operational headroom” needed to scale efficiently.

Global airports already on board

Aurrigo’s technology is already deployed across 12 airports worldwide, including Amsterdam Schiphol and Cincinnati.

The Coventry expansion positions the firm to broaden that reach significantly as demand for autonomous logistics continues to grow.
