Birmingham tech firm to manage 300-device estate for whg

Birmingham-based managed IT and communications provider Intercity has agreed a deal to deliver mobile connectivity services for whg, one of the West Midlands’ largest housing associations.

The network-agnostic solution will support whg’s 300-strong mobile estate, covering up to 15 live sites at any one time.

Rather than applying a generic national approach, the service has been designed around local coverage requirements while maintaining a single management model across different user needs.

The contract includes access to Intercity’s mobile services portal, giving whg real-time usage insight and simplified administration to reduce reliance on manual processes.

Frontline impact

“Reliable mobile connectivity is critical for our teams, particularly those working out in the community,” said Dan Groom, Service Delivery Manager at whg.

“When systems behind the scenes don’t work properly, the impact doesn’t stop at our IT team. It reaches frontline colleagues, and ultimately the residents who rely on those services being delivered well.”

Intercity, which employs 300 people across offices in Birmingham, Bedford, Bolton and Nuneaton, has more than doubled revenues from £25m to £55m over the past three years.
